Yggdrasil Yawns
Pop Up Book
This pop-up book was created to showcase a variety of pop up features. The subject I chose was Yggdrasil, the world tree from norse mythology. On Yggdrasil exist nine realms, which my book walks through. I chose to implement bold and contrasting colors to make my designs more eye catching, and draw attention to the intricate details, which better stand out against their backgrounds and counterparts. The colors are carefully chosen to enhance the environment of each page/realm. The type uses a seriffed font drawn with black pen for a handmade and warm feel. Additionally, I maintained serrated, jagged edges to each page, which feels more harmonious across the book.
